Welcome and Thanks

Thank you for joining my community! I’m truly delighted to connect with you directly and share important updates from my journey into workplace culture transformation, anti-racism, and equity.

New Book!

I'm excited to announce that my book, “One Step Forward Two Steps Black: Navigating Anti-Black Workplace Culture,” will be published in August. This work is the culmination of my deep exploration into how Black professionals experience, survive, and sometimes thrive despite the subtle and overt forms of anti-Blackness embedded in many UK workplaces.

If you haven’t yet reserved your early release paperback, you can order your copy here.

Why Transforming Workplace Culture Matters

My focus, whether as an executive, researcher, or advocate, has always recognised the need to understand the careers of Black employees - their challenges, narratives, and aspirations. I’ve observed how workplace cultures can undermine well-being and hinder progression, and I’m determined to change that dynamic.

My mission: to drive meaningful change so talented Black professionals can truly flourish and reach their full potential. I’m passionate about practical, actionable inclusion so I will be sharing tools and techniques that work and backing everything with my PhD research and the lived experiences of remarkable individuals I’ve interviewed, mentored and worked with.

The Current UK Workplace Landscape

Racism in the workplace hasn’t disappeared - it’s simply become more nuanced and sometimes harder to detect or prove. These modern forms of discrimination can be just as damaging as the overt racism of the past.

Encouragingly, Black professionals are more vocal than ever.

  • Younger Black employees are demanding equity and are far less likely to endure mistreatment in silence.

  • Experienced professionals are increasingly sharing their realities too.

At the same time, some organisations face pressure to justify, or even abandon, their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programmes. These are challenging times, making it more vital than ever to remain committed to equity and systemic change. Allies and advocates within every organisation have a critical role to play in driving meaningful inclusion.
